The ministry of Commerce has introduced the draft Consumer Protection on the National Competitiveness Center’s Public Consultation platform (Istitlaa) for the public and the government entities to submit their views and feedback.
The draft law aims to achieve a fair balance in rights and obligations between the economic operator and the consumer, protect consumers from products and services that are unsafe, defective or not in conformity with applicable requirements, encourage and strengthen a culture of consumer rights, educate consumers about their rights and obligations, and encourage sustainable consumption.
